Once, long ago, PUR was a great company with great water filtering technology. I still love their filters! Unfortunately, a big bad company named Proctor and Gamble bought them and messed them over in favor of customer abuse. This was accomplished using two methods. The first method is called ‘planned obsolescence’ whereby their faucet mount apparatus leak and die briefly after the end of the warranty period. (It didn’t used to be that way in the good old days). The second method is called ‘timed death’ whereby their apparatus lock up their enclosed filters at a preset volume of filtered water, whether the filter is actually used up or not.

Planned obsolescence can be overcome by calling up Proctor and Gamble BEFORE your warranty runs out, and letting them know that your PUR apparatus is squirting water all over your kitchen. Ask them to send you a replacement or a replacement certificate. If need be, call repeatedly asking to speak to the President of P&G, never taking ‘no’ for an answer. Then take your certificate and get another PUR apparatus. This will provide you with a lifetime for the apparatus more representative of the lifetime of original PUR apparatus. You’ve cheated no one. P&G’s cheat on you has been overcome.

The timed death lockout of your filter is extremely easy to overcome. Pull out the filter from the apparatus. This resets the nasty timing device to zero again. Put your filter back in. TADA! You’re done. Your filter will work as before. Note, however, that PUR filters do eventually get clogged with stuff. You’ll know when to change it.

I hope that helps everyone restore goodness to the universe. I still love PUR filters better than any other brand and wouldn’t be without them. It’s P&G’s customer abuse that’s not worth liking. Shame on you P&G.

My biggest issue is that it leaks from all areas. I have un-attached & re-attached at least a half a dozen times and it still leaks, I have the filter hooked up correctly and I also have the correct size washer in there, overall it’s just a very cheap and a flimsy made product that soaks my entire kitchen.

I purchased a BRITA for my bathroom faucet and it works amazing, I will have to suck up the loss on this Teledyne and purchase a BRITA for the kitchen as well, why I thought this would be better is beyond me. Good luck if you purchase this.

The Grohe Europlus faucet arrived as per the Amazon listing. I found it to be exactly as represented on Amazon. The faucet installed easily and looks contemporary and elegant in its new location on a Toto Pacifica pedestal sink.

Grohe’s installation instructions are clear, concise and detailed. When I need another faucet or accessory Grohe will continue to be my first choice.

The installation instructions were well-illustrated and easy to follow, and each of the individual components were packed in plastic bags with their appropriate hardware (nuts, washers, etc), so you don’t have to hunt through the box to find the right part.

I had no plumbing experience prior to this project, and I installed this faucet by myself over a few hours one Saturday, and got it right the first time (no leaks). The most difficult parts were getting the old faucet out and the sink cleaned up, then getting around the existing drain pipes — nothing to do with this faucet at all. A couple of times it would have been nice to have had someone hold the parts on top steady, but I got around it. Also, although this faucet is meant for a 4-hole sink, I installed it on a three-hole sink and left out the soap dispenser. When I get around to replacing the sink, I’ll get a 4-hole and add the dispenser.

For the price, the quality, the ease of installation, and the good-looking functionality, I highly recommend this faucet!

Edit: Due to the comments I had received for this, I will make some additions to my review.

It was easy to put together, since my father is a very good handyman. We replaced a new sink along with it in my guest bathroom. However, my experience of installing this is likely not going to be identical to yours depending on your experience level, so read your manuals carefully. If you know what you’re doing, this should not be a difficult installation.

As I’ve said, the handle is smooth. It turns easily. The item itself is beautiful. My wall is beige, and it seems to fit nicely with my bathtub faucet (which is a lot more traditional but has a shiny surface as well).

In terms of usage, it’s a faucet. I turn it on and I turn it off – nothing special about it. I haven’t had any eureka moments using it. But again, it looks good.

Once again, it came with everything you need to install – just prepare the tools yourself. We did not have to run to home depot for anything extra (other than the new sink).

When ordering the Decolav 1430 Bathroom Sink, a suggested part for the sink was this umbrella drain. THIS PART DOES NOT FIT THE 1430 AT ALL. Don’t get fooled into buying this if you don’t need it. Remember, when ordering sinks with standard openings, you can always get the hardware at a local store.

I bought this particular kitchen faucet for my mother. So, I can’t take any chances on a fly-by-night, here-today-gone-tomorrow brand like Pegasus or Kingston Brass or any other Chinese made knock off brand. If this faucet craps out in a year or two–mom’s gonna give me an ear full.

Customer service is one of the main reasons I buy Kohler products. They’ve been around for 100 yrs and they’ll probably be around for another 100 (unless they pull a “Maytag” and start building and selling crappy products and ruin their good reputation). I’ve called Kohler for replacements parts for a faucet that was 10 yrs old and they sent me the parts free of charge–and even paid for the shipping. They’ll spend $10 sending you a .10 part. It’s smart really, because every time they do that they build brand loyalty that pays off over time.

Mom lives in a 1940s ranch in Salt Lake City and we’ve been slowly trying to add back some of the charm that the former owners “remodeled” out of it. She wanted new granite counters & a new sink & faucet but I talked her into just replacing the sink & faucet for now to see how that felt. So, out came the cheapo stainless sink & the cheapo Home Depot faucet that some idiot installed and in went a nice, new, deep double bowl sink & this Kohler Fairfax chrome faucet. And voila! The kitchen looks great and mom’s 100% satisfied. She doesn’t need those expensive, fancy counters anyway. She’s almost 70 and she’s the best cook in the county… $4000 worth of granite isn’t gonna make her cobbler any tastier!

Kohler’s expensive but if you shop around (and Amazon’s usually very competitive) you can get a price that’s comparable to a cheapo faucet from Home Depot or Lowes that you’d buy off the shelf. And there is no comparison in quality and even style. Kohler keeps its product lines simple and classic and when the do add a new line they stick with it. So your renovation doesn’t date itself so quickly.

I have noticed that–to compete on price–Kohler products that I buy at Home Depot don’t always have the same quality parts (i.e. full chrome pop ups & braided steel hoses) that they used to have–or that they have when you buy them through plumbing supply houses. I understand why they are doing that but it still annoys me. I mean, if you can’t manufacture a quality faucet for $99, then don’t sell $99 faucets. But, it’s a dirty game out there with so much cheap stuff being manufactured overseas… Kohler’s 100% American made–in Kohler, WI, so they are going to cost a bit more. But, I don’t mind paying a little extra for quality & service.

First, most sinks are too short for me and I have to bend forward a little to use them. This is exactly the kind of action that can give a person back problems. So not bending to turn on the faucet and wash my hands is a huge plus! Because the levers and the spout is tall, I actually don’t have to bend with this sink anymore.

My American Standard sinks were designed to have to big holes and one small one in the center and a bit to the back. Modern sinks have three round holes of equal size. Because of the position of the center hole, finding an American Standard faucet that has water release valve that works is hard! But the good news is that I actually got this model to work! The release valve has no problems because of the angle it is in and it can fit in the older sink’s center hole without problems.

Finally, I love the look of this faucet! It took under two hours to install it (I am not a plumber) and most of that time was spent trying to get the old faucet off. Over a year later it is still looking like new!

If you need a new faucet, I would highly recommend this one! It costs more than others but I think it is worth saving up for this one as it is worth it!

There are several reasons, however, that I can not dole out 5 stars to this product. Firstly, the shoe easily comes out of alignment and even after some adjustments on my part, it will let loose at random. I’ve been told by my local tool dealer this has been the complaint of several customers and has on occasion plagued Milwaukee’s circular saws as well. Secondly, the plastic casing could be of a higher quality. Sure, it is better than a Black & Decker, but given more than a $100 price differential, Milwaukee could have stepped it up on the materials. Thirdly, I believe the Bosch jigsaw is of slightly higher build quality, has a softer start, and is better-suited for precision applications.

All in all, Milwaukee has a great tool here that with a few refinements could be an excellent one, even better than the Bosch. I would recommend this product to any potential buyers.

But then I used the faucet. It ran fine. I turned it off and it continued to run. Not a drip, not a leak, but run. At about half the volume of full on. After about thirty seconds it slowed to a tinkle, then stopped with just the intermittent drip.

The pictorial assembly instructions that I raved about a few minutes earlier now became the object of my rage as it contained no words, pictures or hints as to how to adjust the thing. I removed the handle and tightened the big nut a bit which did not improve the problem. Then I reversed the assembly steps, put it back int he box and returned it to Lowes. Leaking out of the box will be remembered when it begins to leak again in a year or two.

I bought a Delta. Stay tuned for that review…

The one concern I have is that because it is so expensive you want to be careful when cutting so you don’t bend/ break it, although we have bent it and bent it back a number of times without damage.

If you cut plaster, cement board, or anything else that is cuttable but quickly dulls teeth, this blade is a no-brainer.

Additionally, the design doesn’t make much sense. Having both of the faucet handles project forwards from the faucet instead of upwards may give it an interesting look, but also gets in the way a lot. Position the neck of the faucet too far to either side and it’s almost running right on top of the handle. I suppose this wouldn’t make such a difference if you have a single-basin sink, but my faucet is mounted right over the middle wall of a two-basin sink, so I need to be able to swing the faucet neck to the side when washing pots. The handles frequently get in the way.

Still, this is an inexpensive, good-looking wall mount faucet, and it does work. So I’m giving this two stars instead of just one.

My only problem is that the clamp knob on the production stop is much larger than required. In my particular set-up, it’s also in the wrong place: behind the fence. The flip stop attaches with a T-bolt and a small knob that is on top. Easy to get to. But the production stop extrusion isn’t configured to allow this. So the knob is in back. It’s large enough to exert considerable force on the track, something Kreg obviously thought about because there is a cute little swivel that should help prevent marring the track it presses against. But the bolt is about an inch longer than necessary and the knob is four or five times larger than required for the 1/4 turn necessary to keep the stop from moving. I suppose that in most installations this is a non-issue: most fences have plenty of open room behind them. But my fence has a table behind it, with only 3/4 inch clearance for the track and stop fixtures. If I can’t discover a reasonable work-around, I may have to abandon the production stop and order another flipstop (which isn’t a bad idea after all).

(1) If you build your extensions from 3/4″ ply as i did, you’ll have to put a 16th of an inch shim behind the fence on your extensions because the rebate on the track is a full 3/4 of an inch. This is because 3/4 inch ply is actually 11/16″ of an inch in thickness. This is something i only spotted when the tracks were mounted. If you don’t shim the track back the track will stick out a 16th of an inch from the fence and any piece of stock higher than 2-1/4 inches will be 1/16″ of an inch from the fence. This is a safety issue because the blade will pinch on the back of the cut and could cause kickback. Shimming the track is one way around this, using thicker ply and running it through a thicknesser until you have it 3/4″ of an inch thick is another or use solid wood for the fences on your extensions.

(2) The flip stop is prone to lateral movement when heavy stock is pushed against it, i either use the production stop for heavy stock or i hold the flip stop as i push the heavy stock against it.

(3) The kit comes with four 2′ pieces of track, i had to purchase another three pieces of 2′ track for the right hand side of my saw. With hindsight i would have purchased at least one length of 4′ track because no matter how carefully the individual pieces of track are mounted there will always be a slight offset from the end of one piece of track and the start of another. This can be overcome to some extent by placing the mounting screws as near as possible to the end of the track. The two foot pieces of track are better suited to short fences like on a drill pres table.

I then tried it out on my bathroom sink. I have an older style of drain stopper here. This metal stopper plug can be removed. However its raising and lowering motion is controlled by a horizontal bar that is nested a few inches below the drain opening. I was afraid the Sweep once again wouldn’t be able to make it past such an impediment. However it did. But this time, the existence of this horizontal bar circumscribed the movement of the Sweep snake to such an extent that I wasn’t able to maneuver it into or past the P-trap of the pipe under my sink. Therefore once again, the tool proved useless.

The instructions on the Sweep’s package say that if one has this problem gaining access – one should disassemble the pipe at the P-trap and work from there. But that’s exactly why I bought this tool – to AVOID having to disassemble and then re-solder pipe!

Also, the handle of the Sweep is made of rather flimsy plastic and arrived partially broken. The breakage did not materially affect the operation of the unit, so I’ll probably keep it and find some use for this tool someday. But I cannot recommend it. Before you buy it, check to make absolutely sure that your drain will allow access to a snake with a girth actually somewhat over 3/8 of an inch.

The only issue I have is that when you let go of the handle, the water gradually dribbles to a stop, rather than shutting completely down instantly. I find this a bit frustrating, in that I will either be wasting water or my time. That is why I gave it four instead of five stars.

This kit is needed if you have the kind of faucet which is removable; ours has a spray head on a flexible hose instead of a fixed faucet. Hence my need for this device.

I would suggest professional installation, especially if you have to drill a hole in the sink, which was required in my situation. I also had the plumber drill a hole in the counter, so that I could have the Zuvo above the sink rather than under the sink in the (included) bracket.

6 months later, the unit is still working just as well as it did from day one. It’s so wonderful to get rid of filter pitchers from taking up valuable counter and refrigerator real estate!

I only take a way one star because it does not shut off immediately when you let up on the lever… it sort of dribbles to a stop. But I would buy it again if I needed to and I highly recommend it for use with the Zuvo Purator.

This was to replace a noisy unit from another manufacturer. The installation was quick and easy, and the unit seems to be working well – and quietly!

I’m terrified of plumbing so I didn’t use the plastic quick coupler on the pressure side (house water to faucet valve) of the unit. Used a brass compression coupler – so I couldn’t use the little filter supplied. It would be an improvement (IMNSHO) to supply a brass coupler and filter for those who don’t trust plastic.

Otherwise it seems like an excellent unit.

Pros: Cost less than InSink Erator, quick connects are a nice feature (including the small cone filter in the water supply quick connect), this style is sleek and simple looking (Coronado).

Cons: There is a slight delay (1-2 seconds) after you press the lever, the tank is slightly bulky compared to InSink Erator, but not enough to make a big deal over, and it would be nice if it included additional copper tubing with compression nut and sleeve (for valve conncections).

Attaching the bar to the plywood base proved to be trickier than I had imagined. Perhaps it was my own inexperience, but I found it near impossible to prevent some deflection of the bar when it was attached with the provided screws. Because the holes in the bar are counter-sunk, any minute deviation in the screw placement will pull the bar one way or another, resulting in the bar being less-than-perfectly straight. I assumed the set screws could be used to “correct” the error in the bar’s position, but this was not the case. The result is that the jig slides smoothly for most of its travel, but binds in other places. Be sure that you insert the set-screws so that the end WITHOUT the hex-key slot contacts the saw’s miter slot or you will destroy the hex-key hole and render the screw useless.

I think someone with better skills and more patience could probably get better results. I would still recommend this product for anyone looking to expand their saw’s capabilities.

This installed very easily. I would encourage you to read the installation manual, if you are doing this, rather than just assuming you know how to install a faucet.

You have the ability to configure it for hot/cold on coming ni either side which was a nice feature.

It was very easy to get the scald guard adjusted right for me, contrary to a previous review. It is certainly more complicated than a faucet that just has individual on/off valves for the hot and cold line. But you can adjust the stop for the scald guard with a screwdriver and repositioning it in about 2 minutes.

The fact that it adjusts to manage the temperature makes for the fastest shower-up-to-temp time I have experienced. In the mornings, I just turn it on, wait and the shower is up to temp much faster than I am used to. I think the reason is that the faucet automatically goes full-hot until it starts getting hot water and then manages the hot/cold flow to keep the temperature stable. My previous shower faucet required continuous adjustement for the first several minutes of a shower.

The only down side is that I put two of these in the same shower, so the water comes at you from both sides (with indivudal temp control). Now I find we stay in the shower too long. But I don’t think I can blame that on the faucet.

I settled on Delta because installation costs a lot more than the unit itself. Delta seems to have standardized on this base for most of their units and it is pretty easy to find replacement parts. My plumber seemed pleased; he said he had been trained on Delta fixtures and had no trouble getting it installed.

It’s been in for 4 months and I haven’t had any problems with it. When eventually it does leak/fail it should be possible to fix without breaking open the wall again. Where plumbing’s concerned, that’s the best I can hope for.

The plumber said that Kohler uses a poorly designed / constructed connections compared to those used by Moen and Delta. I tend to agree. It looks like something that could be corrected with a $2 factory fix.

This was a DIY project for me and I really lucked out. The product that shipped was DLRSQ3322. The “Q” means that it has the Quick clip system. This ended up being the only mounting solution (other than using glue) that would work. It happened to be dumb luck that it what I got. (I bought it at [...]). With the sink in place, it is impossible for me to use a screwdriver from underneath to secure it. With the quick clip system, you nail these grooved brackets on the inside of the sink opening. The sink has these teeth that grab onto the grooves. All you need to do is put a bead of silicone on the sink and push down (hard). It handles uneven surfaces pretty well.

There were a couple of issues that bugged me. First, the box was dropped at some point and one corner was severely bent (I was able to straighten out with a wrench). Not the way to package an expensive sink like this. Secondly, there wasn’t any literature or instructions whatsoever in the box. Had to rely on the Elkay website.

The undercoating of the sink is so thin, I can’t see what the point of it is. It doesn’t deaden any sounds.

Overall, this sink is exactly what we were looking for and the quick clip system is very good for mounting in trick situations.

The operating lever on the Grohe is longer and positioned in the center of the faucet, so when you pushd the lever back to get hot water, it would touch the tile at the full hot setting. With the granite being deeper, this lever would not be able to go to full hot because the granite would block the lever! Not a good thing!

The Kohler eliminates this problem in two ways: First, the lever is shorter and therefore pushing it towards the rear does not extend the lever as far back and second, the valve and handle are towards the front of the faucet rather than centered with it. This means that the lever barely exceeds the rear of the faucet by 1/2″ at full hot where the Grohe requires almost 3 1/2″ of clearance for the handle to reach full hot position!

Grohe makes an excellent faucet and this is in no way a criticism of their mechanical, cosmetic or functional quality. But if you have any restrictions on space, especially behind the faucet where the lever throw can be critical, this Kohler will deliver the style and quality while fitting in much tighter spots!

Oh, and the design is really nicely functional, too. Put a pasta pot under this without problem – both the extended height and reach make filling such oversized pots and pans a snap!

Yes, you DO need to dig a hole in the ground and securely set this thing in place — after all, it’s going be holding 20, 30, or 40 pounds or more of hose and you need it to be stable.

Other models I’ve owned have featured a horizontal input connection, which has put a strain in the supply hose (the one coming from your spigot or other water source. Typically, these hose stands are backed up against a wall, and you end up having to permanently bend your supply hose to accommodate the horizontal input and squeeze it in place. This eventually leads to failure, and puts undue sideways pressure on the input in the back of the stand.

THIS model has a 90-degree input connection, and points DOWNWARD — utterly brilliant! Your supply hose lays on the ground, and easily and naturally turns upwards to connect to the back of the hose stand. No awkwardly-bent connections, no strain, etc. What a great idea!

This product appears to be all steel and brass, and gives the impression that it’ll last a long, long time.

Worth every penny of the asking price, I recommend this stand without reservation!

Finally, the copper tubes that come out and are meant to be hooked up to the water lines are really really really soft and fragile. They come with a “Don’t bend these!” warning label. Yeah so guess what? I bent one when trying as hard as I could to NOT bend them as I was screwing the water connection hoses on. No I didn’t overtorque it and twist the whole pipe, all I did was hit one of the tubes with the wrench as I was just starting to screw the tube on. It deformed instantly.

Now this is totally my fault and I should have been even more careful. Except you see I took the wrench and then purposely beat the old faucet’s copper tubes to see if I could dent those. I couldn’t. The tubes on the old Moen faucet were much thicker copper and I couldn’t bend them or deform them at all.

This elbow is a durable, heavy, highly-polished unit, super-easy to install with a very useable thread contact range of 1/4″-3/4″ protruding pipe thread. Don’t forget to use teflon tape!

1. you have infinite temperature AND flow adjustment in the handle. This means you can soften the stream and have NO SPLASHING.

2.you may adjust the flow rate within the base of the housing with an allen wrench and NO SPLASHING as flow will be restricted at max pull out .

3. you may have a license and even use it to drive a car, but I hope if you can’t figure out the above two points then you are nowhere near me on the roads as a car has many more complex operations than this simple elegant infinitely adjustable faucet. Please, if you can’t figure out how to prevent splashing then check yourself into a mentally challenged facility; the streets and kitchens and sinks of American will be that much safer.

We called the customer service line to learn there is no way to adjust the inner body to fix the problem. They did offer to send two new bodies, but it’s a pain to reinstall because there’s no way to know whether the new ones will be better aligned. Second problem with the faucet is at the spout. Each time I turn it on, there’s a stray stream of water, sometimes it’s spits out bits of water towards the left, sometimes there’s a small stream to the right. I will soak the aerator in a vinegar solution to see if it fixes the problem. Otherwise, Price Pfister offered to send me another aerator.

The strange thing is that the second faucet we installed seems perfectly fine. The knobs and base rings align fine and the water streams out like any other faucet. I like the finish and the height of the faucet head over the sink. It looks great with our new granite counters.

It’s peculiar that in the same order we could have a normal faucet and one with so many different issues. At least I’ve been satisfied with the manufacturer’s response to my complaints. My plumber says this brand is okay but not the best. He truly believe you get what you pay for when it comes to faucets.

Some have said the sprayer is plastic – that is not true, it is heavy duty metal. However, the base the sprayer sits on is metal coated plastic, and the tube leading down the sink is plastic. But I found this is actually a good thing, since if it were metal, the tube would definitely scrape against the hose and wear it out faster. You’ll see what I mean when you install the sprayer.

One note – because we have a 4 hole sink, a dish washer vent on one side of the faucet, a water filter faucet on the other side, and the sprayer – all the holes being close together, there was no room to keep the faucet on/off handle on the side, as it is pictured. So we installed it with the handle facing out. I would have preferred it on the side – but it still looks just fine being in the front. But wanted to mention it to any who might have the same situation.

I’ve shopped for comparable faucets priced at $300 bucks or more, so I am very happy with this purchase.

Our sink was originally a four-hole with the fourth on the right side for a sprayer. When we replaced the main faucet, it came with a pull-out sprayer function, so the fourth hole was unused (and covered). This was a perfect replacement for a sprayer and it fit in the same place.

Note that it may be obvious to some, but it wasn’t to me: The knob points to the side when it is off, and down when it is on. I initially purchased assuming the opposite, or that it was a lift-style lever.

The prettiest Lakeland sink was a black 33 x 22 single bowl, which I ordered with the optional drop-in metal grille. As an undermount with granite, it looks fantastic, and all for under $400.

Very easy to clean, very durable. Plus the Americast material is very light and easy to install–only 35 pounds for the largest single bowl sink available anywhere at any price.

If you leave the faucet on, and, it freezes, it is likely that the top of this manifold will pop. It is designed to do this. If you leave it on your faucet during a deep freeze, and, leave the faucet on, either the top of this will pop, or, your pipes will pop. Better the manifold should pop than the pipes behind the wall.

I’ve used this for a couple of months on a farm and ranch “quit freeze” (I’ll upload a picture if I have the time).

It has worked well. It is a solid, quality piece of cast brass (low-tin bronze), machined to provide the required delivery at each faucet head. I use it, without trouble in warmer weather (here in the mountains ANYTHING above freezing is “warmer weather”) for watering my garden around my spa. It permits a lot of flexibility in providing water through attachments that I attach and detach with the Orbit quick couples. Orbit Lawn & Garden Brass Hose Quick Connect Set #58117

With the time savings provided by having more than one hose and attachment available at the turn of a valve, I can afford the time to nurture my garden. Otherwise, I would be too busy screwing on attachments and hoses to get much watering done.

I thought it may just need a new washer as the old one looked a little worn. I replaced the washer and the problem still remained.

As for freezing temperatures…..I was living in charleston, sc. Not an area that gets freezing weather. As the temp dropped I removed the manifold and put it on a shelf. (no point in having it out when your grass is dormant) I am going to see about getting a gilmore one as well for the lifetime warranty. not sure why this one doesnt have one….

2) the gray plastic piece that fits under the faucet (you put it under the faucet then put plumbers’ putty under that)–maybe I’m doing it wrong, but this is still visible beneath the faucet. It’s gray plastic, it doesn’t look like the brass faucet, it’s a tad cheap. The prior faucet (the one I removed to install this) also had a similar part but I don’t remember noticing it at all until I was taking the old faucet off. It looks fine but I would prefer not to see the plastic part under my faucet.
