My problem with this unit is after the first filter the LED lights no longer work. Is there a battery? If yes, how do I change it? Does it hurt this filter if you run hot water through it? Easy to do by mistake, but no answer I can find. Everyone is worried about chemicals and lead, but that’s kids stuff. Bacteria will make you sick! For the price they charge for these filters you will save in the long run AND get better purification with an under sink unit. I have no idea. I am going on to a under sink filter. Cheaper in the long run AND they filter bacteria.

I am totally dissatisfy with this product and this is damn waste of money. Brita base was working for just 2 week initially and now I able to get a water from filter but there is no light glowing either green or red. The base was showing red flash light on end of first week for the first new filter which suppose to come upto atleast 2 months.
I recommed you all… DONT BUY IT.

I’ve used this system for longer than I can remember. I change the replacement cartridges regularly, water & ice tastes great, and I only changed the system itself ONCE after several years & only cuz it started to look kinda old. The filtration system, for me anyway, has ALWAYS worked great. I might’ve written the same complaint as as the people who rated it “1″ (about the leaks) but it sounds like they might not have noticed that it comes with a PACKET of DIFFERENT GASKETS. It’s right there in the box. It probably says somewhere in the instructions (yah, I never read those either) to select the one that fits your faucet best. The one that comes already inserted in the collar is pretty thick & would leak on my faucet, too. In fact, it did when I replaced the system for my 2nd one but then I saw the packet & remembered that I had to switch it out the gasket for the thinner black rubber thingy, just like before. Works terrific after that (yes, don’t over tighten) & neither of the 2 I’ve had for over 7+ years has ever leaked without more than just a slight & very rare tightening.

filter will depend largely on how much filtrated water you use. This does what it is supposed to do and
does it well.
