The FiltreteTM Professional Faucet Water Filter is a chemical and mechanical reduction filter that reduces sediment, including sand, silt, particulates and rust. it also reduces chlorine taste and odor, and parasitic cysts. The system is tested and certified by NSF International against NSF/ANSI Standard 42 for the reduction of chlorine taste and odor and NSF/ANSI 53 for the reduction of cysts.

I purchased this filter with high expectations. However, I am very disappointed because of the slow flow. After 3 weeks, it start running very slow. I feel like I spend over $50 for nothing. I do not recommend this product.

While this might be an excellent product, the installation instructions were not as clearly written as they could have been. I found a better set of instructions, including photos, from a random Google search. Nevertheless, after installing the product exactly as instructed, the connection to the water line popped off after about five minutes. Unfortunately, my cold water shut off valve wouldn’t shut off, and I ended up having to cut off the water to my house until I could get it fixed.
I called a plumber for help in installing the unit, but I was told they would not connect hoses with push in fittings, citing their unreliablility.
I realize Filtrete air filters are outstanding products, but I think the company needs to rethink the design of this system and provide the more reliable screw fittings instead of the push in fittings. If a plumber won’t use them, do-it-yourself-consumers like me shouldn’t either.

These are really easy to install. Had our plumber do the first one and we did the other two. So glad to get the PUR off the faucet!

Filter is working very well. No odor or taste in the water. Prior we had a real bad problem. The installation couldn’t have been easier. The snap in fittings are terrific. The key is cutting the piping squarely. Absolutely no leaks and only took a minute.

This filter is a snap to install and does a great job filtering water. If there’s any drawback at all, it filters the water TOO well. The filtered water tastes “soft,” rather more like distilled water than drinking water. It’s a vast improvement over untreated Phoenix city tap water.
